 In the previous issue of Infowaves, I had shared my thoughts on how Industry 4.0 is thriving over factors such as IoT, AI and Machine Learning. Innovations in the field of Industrial Automation, notably digitisation, advancements in system architectures, software and edge devices are increasingly fostering Industry 4.0.
An important factor making a big impact is the readiness of advanced, compact, ultra-accurate mmWave Radars for Industrial applications. These Radars are finding its way to sophisticated industrial applications such as robotics, industrial safe zone & free space monitoring, people counting, occupancy detection, building automation, security and surveillance, parking and traffic management, and more.

In this issue, I am pleased to introduce two of Mistral's latest offerings for Industrial Applications - 60GHz Antenna on PCB [AoPCB] Industrial Radar and AM65x Industrial SoM, which are based on IWR6843 mmWave Sensor and AM6548 SoC from Texas Instruments respectively. These two Modules will be the harbinger of a phenomenal change in the Industrial domain.

Based on Texas Instruments AM6548 SoC, the AM65x Industrial SoM comes in a compact formfactor (63mm x 90mm) and is designed for complex processing, connectivity and control required for Industry 4.0 applications. The SoM is ideal for designs requiring secure boot, multi-protocol Gigabit communication, graphics, functional safety features and time-sensitive-networking.
The 60GHz mmWave Industrial RADAR on Module with Antenna on PCB [AoPCB] from Mistral is an easy to use, light-weight RADAR Module based on IWR6843 mmWave Sensor from Texas Instruments. The AoPCB Radar Module is ideal for low power, ultra-accurate RADAR systems in industrial environment.
