Welcome to another issue of Infowaves!
Machine vision, Autonomous operation and Machine Learning are few of the core technologies driving the cyber-physical systems in an Industry 4.0 and automotive ecosystem. These technologies are deeply intertwined and work in harmony to provide high-level intelligence. Machine vision is emerging as a critical component, aiding industrial autonomous systems by improving quality, maximise productivity, reduce downtime and optimize manufacturing processes.
Coupled with AI, Machine vision can provide unprecedented visibility to businesses. Mistral has been an active player in Industrial domain offering superior products of exceptional functional and computational capabilities. Keeping in tune with this trend, Mistral brings to you the Neuron Base, a Development Platform for NVIDIA Jetson SoMs, designed to meet the compelling needs of modern AI, deep learning and inference on the edge. By integrating with the mmWave Radar, the Neuron Base can also be used to design camera and Radar sensor fusion solutions for Industrial and Automotive applications.
Another important recent release is the updated 60GHz AoPCB Industrial Radar based on IWR6843 ES2.0 from Texas Instruments. The compact and light-weight mmWave RADAR provides high computational power and superior functionality for Industrial applications.
Robotics Control is an essential aspect of industry 4.0. The Application Note featured in this issue provides valuable insights into designing a high-performance Robotics Control System based on the AM65x Industrial SOM that aids complex processing, communication and powerful IoT capabilities. Other articles of interest include ‘Use of mmWave Radars for Vital Sign Monitoring’ and a case study on ‘Design and implementation an Unmanned Autonomous Navigation Vehicle’.
As always, let me assure you that we will continue to provide best of our services to honour our commitments and maintain high business standards. I thank you for your support during this extraordinary situation. Wishing you a festive season filled with joy, peace and good health.

Case Study: Design and Implementation of an Unmanned Autonomous Navigation System
|
This case study showcases Mistral's expertise in the design & development of Autonomous / Unmanned Ground Vehicles that depend on a set of sensors to observe and cognize the environment around it. The vehicle uses drive-by-wire technology and generates drive commands by the vision & navigation algorithms in lieu of a human operator. These vehicles are ideal for surveillance in areas that are hostile to have direct human presence. The customer is a leading Defence Lab involved in the research of Information & Communication Technology and Development of Intelligent Systems
