Overview

NAND Flash is a non-volatile, high-density memory typically used for secondary storage or long term storage. NAND Flash controller manages the data stored on NOR and NAND Flash memory, and they communicate with the computer or device.  NAND Flash Controller provides an easy interface to access NAND Flash Memory devices. It supports multiplexed command, address and Write/Read data sequences.

Mistral’s ONFI 3.0 NAND Controller IP core is available for Xilinx and Altera FPGAs. IT supports both Synchronous and Asynchronous modes of operation. The NAND Controller can handle all the commands, address, data sequences, and hardware protocols.

NAND Flash Controller devices usually have a complex and multiplexed device architecture which only support page Write/Read and Block Erase operations. The ONFI 3.0 NAND Flash Controller IP Core from Mistral provides an easy access to NAND Controller devices over an 8-bit wide interface to handle multiplexed command, address and Write/Read data sequences.
